Advanced medicine. Advanced care.
Lacerations and wounds can put your horse’s life, mobility and long-term comfort at risk. Without proper treatment, even a small injury can become a serious problem. Early evaluation and expert care make all the difference — and that’s where we come in.
The University of Missouri Equine Wound Clinic provides advanced diagnostics, treatment and follow-up care for all types of equine wounds. Our services include:
- Comprehensive wound evaluation and treatment planning including infection management and surgical wound closure.
- Advanced care for complex wounds involving joints, tendon sheaths or bursas — with services such as arthroscopy, Standing CT, local antibiotic therapy and innovative intra-articular treatments.
- Intensive wound care hospitalization including treatment for exposed bone and tendon, advanced antimicrobial therapy and surgical closure solutions designed to minimize healing time.
- Follow-up wound management at our facility or in collaboration with your local veterinarian. We work together to monitor healing progress and optimize outcomes.
