Neurology/neurosurgery emergencies beginning December 2024
(note: This is subject to change)
Due to staffing shortages, the Neurology and Neurosurgery (NNS) Service will not receive emergent cases owned by clients who live outside of a 50-mile radius from the Mizzou VHC on the first and third weekends (noon Friday through 8 a.m. Monday) of the month.
1. Cases outside of the 50-mile radius will be diverted to neurology practices in St. Louis or Kansas City:

- Kansas City: BluePearl Pet Hospital, Overland Park (913-642-9563); Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (913-722-5566)
2. Nonemergent cases, if care is provided at Mizzou, can be managed by the Emergency and Critical Care service until transfer to NNS service Monday morning at 8 am.
