What emergency services do you offer?
We offer emergency care and stabilization for your four-legged friend. We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics, hospitalization and surgical services.
Do I need to call ahead?
If your pet is not in immediate danger, contact the clinic at 816-455-5430. Speaking with you will help us understand the nature of your pet’s emergency so we can better prepare for your arrival.
When is your emergency clinic open?
The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas City is open:

- Monday – Thursday 6 p.m. – 8 a.m.
- Friday 6 p.m. – Monday 8 a.m.
- We are open on all major holidays.
How long will I have to wait to see the veterinarian?
Similar to an emergency room for people, we prioritize cases based on medical need so wait times can be unpredictable.
Will I be given status updates on my pet?
Yes, the veterinarian will keep you updated on your pet’s condition. You are also welcome to call in for updates.
Will you keep in touch with my primary care veterinarian?
An electronic copy of your pet’s records will be sent to the primary care clinic on file. You will also receive a copy of your pet’s paperwork upon discharge.
