The Motion Analysis Laboratory is located in the Veterinary Health Center at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. This is a state-of-the-art facility for the evaluation of companion animal motion. The laboratory is equipped with equipment that is the same as found in many advanced human labs. The motion capture camera system is similar to equipment that filmmakers use in making special effects on film. With the camera, force plates and animal walkway system, our veterinarians can determine how much weight the dog is putting on each limb and track the movement of their joints. We can perform gait analysis on all animals with osteoarthritis and soft-tissue injuries, and monitor pain management strategies.
