Radiographic examinations are performed on small and large animal patients. Filmless detectors are used to obtain images that are sent to a computer for viewing and interpretation. Because these images are digital, they can easily be transferred to clients or referring veterinarians.
Radiographs may help in the diagnosis of:
- Position and severity of fractures – often used to help surgeons before and after procedures
- Identification of foreign bodies
- Chest condition – heart disease, lung cancer, pneumonia
- Hip dysplasia
